The river flows until it falls off into a bigger body of water
Just as our life flows
Slowly and peacefully
Until life spits us out into a vast and dense space
All alone

With nothing around us for miles
The waters are choppier on the other side
Critters are scarier
And nights are covered in pure darkness

But as the river fans out to sea
Days and nights become blurry
The water from the river evaporates
Breaking free
As it travels on a whirlwind adventure
With nimbus clouds high in the sky, that eventually break free
Releasing the sea back to the river and the river back to the sea

Life is but a cycle of good and bad
Understanding it doesn’t make it any easier
Sometimes you have to go with the flow

Easing through mountains and storms
Each time returning home with new lessons learned
Life is good and bad
But if we focus too much on it, we forget the middle

We get caught in the harsh waves of the sea
Forgetting the lessons we learned along the way
Fighting constantly against the harsh waves
never learning it’s okay just to be still
To feel the quietness of the night
And for the first time, you see,
the beauty of a million diamonds reflecting
off what you thought was a big scary sea.
